The Balearics consist of the islands of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera, Cabrera and a hundred or so smaller islands. Ibiza is 80 km from the Spanish coast, while Majorca and Menorca lie some 200 km from Barcelona.
Sailing around the Balearic Islands is a real pleasure. With its clement climate, it is a real delight to stop over between San Antonio and Bosque islands or at Cala Conta.
Weather: The islands enjoy a Mediterranean climate. In summer it is hot and dry (average 25 °C) and winter remains mild (average 12 °C). Temperatures start rising from April and it is often still warm in October. As on many islands, the wind plays an important role. Mallorca is protected by the northern Sierra. Rains are scarce, falling in the spring and autumn. Menorca is flatter, the north wind having caused hundreds of kilometres of walls to be built to protect the fields. For those not so keen on hot weather, it is the best ventilated of the islands, while Ibiza has a more humid climate.
Sailing around the Balearic Islands: The best time for boat rental inn the Balearics is between May and October.
